Member Spotlight - Stephanie Dammen-Morrell

Stephanie Dammen-Morrell is the Director of Marketing for Hussey Gay Bell, a civil engineering and architecture firm with six offices across Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Stephanie joined SMPS shortly after she began her work in the A/E/C industry in 2007. In her 11 years as an A/E/C marketer, Stephanie has grown her passion and involvement in the industry. She accredits much of her growth in the industry to the education and opportunities SMPS provides. Stephanie is currently the Chair and a board member of the SMPS Coastal Committee, which she initiated the development of in late 2017. The Coastal Committee works to expand the footprint of SMPS Atlanta throughout Georgia and to connect SMPS members along the coast of Georgia to the same education opportunities present within Metro-Atlanta.

Working out of Hussey Gay Bell’s Savannah, Georgia office, Stephanie noticed the core A/E/C industry and SMPS education opportunities outside of Atlanta were extremely limited. The desire to connect A/E/C marketers rather than to start the process over with an additional SMPS Georgia chapter inspired Stephanie to initiate the Coastal Committee.

With its continued success providing education to SMPS members throughout Savannah, Stephanie plans for the Coastal Committee to expand SMPS brand, awareness, and value outside of metro Atlanta over the next two years. She hopes greater access to education will increase the coastal Georgia members’ growth and elevate their positions as marketers and business development professionals outside of metro-Atlanta.  Stephanie believes this growth will facilitate the Coastal Committee’s long-term goal of creating systemic connectivity among A/E/C marketers and business development professionals throughout Georgia.

In addition to her involvement in SMPS, Stephanie’s current commitments include: ACEC-GA Engineering Georgia Magazine Editorial Board, SAME Savannah Post Young Member Chair & Board Member, and Leadership Southeast Georgia Site Coordinator.
