SMPS Atlanta Student Chapter

SMPS Atlanta is proud to present our newest addition: The SMPS student chapter at Georgia Tech!

In the Fall of 2011, SMPS Atlanta collaborated with the students of Georgia Tech to form a new student chapter. The organization will be the first of its kind on campus, as it is the only marketing organization that builds awareness of marketing services and the industries that support it. Student leaders are currently in the process of chartering the organization through the Student Government Association, with the aid of their faculty advisor from the College of Management, Professor Peter Vantine.

The goals of SMPS-GT are to provide professional members with an opportunity to share their expertise with students and to access a qualified pool of candidates for recruiting purposes. Student chapter members will benefit by learning how to apply their A/E/C skills towards a viable career path. Students will have access to SMPS Atlanta networking events, in addition to the career development programs the student chapter will work to provide.

SMPS-GT meets every other Monday from Noon to 1PM during the school year. Any professional chapter members who wish to attend may contact Mahwesh Hansraj and she will provide you with more details. Please also contact Mahwesh if you’d like information on upcoming events or opportunities to speak at a student chapter function.

SERC- Registration Now Open!

The SERC 2012 Committee is happy to announce the official Southeastern Regional Conference website is live!  Please take a few moments to visit the site and learn more details about the conference - such as hotel, registration details, sponsorships, etc.

This year we are offering a one day registration (Thursday only) to the conference.  The registration will allow you to attend all the education sessions on Thursday for a reduced price.  But note that this single day registration does not include the Thursday Night Social.

Take special note of the link on the homepage for the Thursday Night Social.  Registration is included in your full conference registration; however, this year we are opening it up to the A/E/C industry, giving everyone the opportunity for increased networking.  Keep an eye out for additional information to share with your colleagues in the near future.

Programs/speakers will be finalized next month - so be sure to check back for updated details.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available - so ask your companies!

We look forward to seeing you in Charlotte in March 2012!
