Committee Volunteers Needed!

Are you interested in getting more involved in SMPS Atlanta? We are looking for committee volunteers and micro-voluneers! Available roles below:


Communications Committee (contact Rachel Nix at [email protected])

  • Graphics Guru: Assists in making SMPS Atlanta branded graphics for events and social media posts. Graphics usually come in about once or twice a month. We love creativity! 


Professional Development Committee (contact Laura Young at [email protected])

  • Event Co-champion: Helps to plan and coordinate all aspects of the session, which may include any or all of the following: brainstorming with your co-champion on topics and refining the message, to communicating with potential speakers, writing a detailed description of the program, promoting the event on social media, and leading or moderating the discussion.
  • Micro volunteer: Under direction from the co-champion or committee leader, micro volunteers perform specific tasks as assigned. This is good for someone who wants to contribute but may have limited available time overall. Micro volunteer tasks usually have a specific deadline or deliverable due.
  • Technology (Zoom) Champion(s): A behind the scenes volunteer to help run Zoom meetings, monitor chats, trouble shoot, assign zoom rooms, etc. for all professional development events.


Savannah Coastal Committee (contact Stephanie Dammen-Morrell at [email protected])

  • Committee Co-Chair: Assists Stephanie in planning and organizing the Savannah events. Would love someone who could eventually take Stephanie's place on the Board of Directors.


Sponsorship Committee (contact Mason Berryman at [email protected])

  • Sponsorship Reach-Out: Assist Mason in contacting potential sponsors. 








Atlanta's Owm Kim Thompkins Joins SMPS Society Board of Directors!

SMPS Atlanta congratulates Kim Thompkins, FSMPS, CPSM on her election to the SMPS Society Board of Directors. Kim will serve as an At-Large Director for a two-year term. As an active member, Kim has served in numerous roles at the chapter, regional and society levels. She was elevated to Fellow in 2019, where she represents the highest level of experience and leadership in marketing and business development within the design and building industry.
