What do you view as the top benefit of joining SMPS?
For me, the top benefit of joining SMPS has been the opportunity to grow personally and professionally.
What is your favorite SMPS event and why should people attend it?
I have a few favorites, but the Year End Finale is at the top of the list. It’s just the best way to culminate
the year – a chance to see how much everyone has grown and to celebrate all the achievements of the
past year.
What are you looking forward to the most in your upcoming SMPS position?
This year, I begin my term as the Director-at-Large of Programs. I am looking forward to working with our
incredible committee to continue bringing quality programs to our members and the AEC community.
Words of advice for new marketers/BDers in the industry?
Put in the effort and get involved, especially with SMPS. Engage with the chapter and volunteer every
chance you get. Grow your network and create visibility not just for your firm but for yourself.
If you did not travel the career path you have, what do you think (or wish) you would be doing
instead?
Had I not changed majors three times in college, I most likely would have been a teacher. As a little girl, I
dreamed of being a teacher - setting up all my dolls, pretending to teach them math and spelling, and
even grading their “homework”.
What is your favorite non-work activity that is all about you and for you?
I would have to say traveling...just wish I could do more of it. There are so many places to visit and
cultures to experience. I am hoping to plan several trips soon.
Where is your favorite place you have traveled to?
My favorite place (so far) that I have traveled to has been Barbados. Highly recommend going on a catamaran excursion...it’s so beautiful!
Where do you most want to go?
I would most like to go to Europe – Italy, Greece, Spain, France, and more.
