The Membership Committee focuses on initiatives that drive, support, recruit and sustain the membership of the Chapter. Activities surround welcoming and orienting new members, planning new member orientation breakfasts and evening networking events, and collecting member feedback for the purpose of attracting and retaining members.

The Professional Development Committee plans and implements our boot camp series of educational events, following SMPS’s Six Domains of Practice: Market Research, Marketing Plan, Client and Business Development, SOQs/Proposals, Promotional Activity, Information, Resource and Organizational Management.

The Communications Committee creates brand awareness for SMPS Atlanta through various communication efforts including the SMPS Atlanta website, various graphic design elements, blog, social media and infoblast emails.

The Programs Committee develops, plans and produces all luncheon programs.  The content is geared to client panels and speakers with a goal of providing education and insight on topics relevant to the A/E/C industry and current market conditions.

• Set out program flyers before each program

• Produce program flyer for each program

• Update the SMPS slide loop that is presented before each program

• Help generate ideas for program topics

•  Help pull together the best speakers for each topic

The Sponsorship Committee generates sponsorships from organizations inside and outside of the industry. They also act as a concierge to sponsors, ensuring they take advantage of the sponsor benefits they receive throughout the year.

• Keep most recent sponsor list and logos and provide to Communications Committee

• Coordinate sponsor boards for display at events

The SMPS Shoot for Success, a charity Sporting Clays Tournament, benefits the ACE Mentor Program in Atlanta. This tournament is designed to welcome everyone from first-time shooters to experienced shooters. The main goal of this event is the desire for SMPS Atlanta to give back to our community in a charitable way. The success of our event is apparent in the sizable donations, $15,000 in our first two years, made to ACE Mentor Program Atlanta. $11,000 of which have been presented to ACE Students in the form of college scholarships towards programs of study in an A/E/C career. The balance of donations are utilized by the ACE Mentor Program for Student Programs, supporting the growth and development of careers in our industry.
