In the Fall of 2011, SMPS Atlanta collaborated with the students of Georgia Tech to form a new student chapter. This organization is the first of its kind on campus, as it is the only marketing organization that builds awareness of marketing services and the Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Design industries that support it. SMPS at Georgia Tech focuses on planning various networking and career development opportunities, while promoting the education of necessary business skills to help students market their technical knowledge and give them a competitive edge in their respective degrees.
Student Chapter members benefit by learning how to apply their A/E/C/D skills towards a viable career path. Students have access to a multitude of SMPS Atlanta networking events, development seminars, and internship opportunities. Members also gain a free subscription to the Marketer magazine, access to an online database of marketing resources, and communication with a network of over 6,000 business developers, marketers, owners, clients, and principals in the design and building industry.
