We are always being asked to do more with less. But maybe this time it’s not just a temporary downturn, but a complete economic reset. At this boot camp we discussed what marketers can do to perform better in this “new normal.”

Beth Harris has been selected as the February Member of the Month for her hard work on the Owner’s Roundtable joint program last month with CMAA, as well as for facilitating the Chapter’s current CPSM Study Group.

SMPS is my home base. As a business developer, I attend many different associations and conferences, locally, regionally and nationally. It’s always exciting to run into one of my SMPS peers at a SAME or DBIA conference. SMPS feels like home, it’s where we go to get educated on the latest trends and research; it’s where we are mentored by some of the best in our industry, it’s where we connect with other business development and marketing professionals; it’s where ideas are freely shared and where there is an atmosphere of camaraderie and acceptance. SMPS is my family in the A/E/C industry, and I feel most fortunate to be a part of such a vital organization.

Beth is the Director of Business Development at Hermosa Construction Group, a SBA certified 8(a) DBE/MBE construction management/general contractor. Hermosa was founded in 2001, as a boutique program management firm, with focus on Outpatient Medical Centers. Today, the firm has grown into a full service construction management and general contracting firm with a proven track record of success throughout the Southeast. Vertical markets include Federal Construction (with focus on Design/Build), Healthcare and General Commercial Construction.

Beth has been an active member of SMPS since joining in 2003. She has served the Atlanta Chapter as President and Secretary and has been actively involved in the Programs Committee, and a Mentor in the Chapter’s Mentor-Protégé program. In 2010 she was named as SMPS Atlanta Marketer of the Year. Currently, Beth is serving SMPS National as Co-Chair of Build Business: TAKE ACTION, the SMPS National Conference which takes place in San Francisco, July 11-13, 2012.
