Business has significantly changed in the past five years. Advances in technology, economic impact, virtual companies and a multi-generational workforce have changed the landscape of how we interact in the workplace. Though the types of businesses and the pace may have changed, how we behave in business has been the foundation of any successful industry.
With the changing environment, how have our behaviors changed? In this session, we will discuss how the expectation of what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior, particularly in this technology age, has changed the social landscape of business. Topics will include:
• The Basics: What part of business etiquette still applies in this time of virtual, remote or multi-location businesses? Do old school tactics backfire or still apply?
• The Impact of Technology: How has the cell phone age changed how we do business? How has using social networking sites changed what is acceptable in the business setting?
• The Multi-Tasking Revolution: Has our ability to multi-task more readily impacted how we behave in business? Is the PDA a gift or a curse?
